Program description

The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Filmmaking program at NYFA's Film School prepares aspiring directors and filmmakers to produce films and multiplatform content while developing their confidence as directors and visual storytellers. Because the aim of every BFA film student is to graduate with a wealth of filmmaking experience and a reel, our students learn by doing, receiving intense on-set production instruction while shooting their own films.

Our trademark hands-on approach teaches students advanced skills and expertise in directing, scripting, cinematography, editing, and production. The program's goal is to provide students the tools they need to bring captivating tales to life via film and content production, as well as to graduate with improved communication, leadership, problem-solving, teamwork, and time management abilities.
