Program description
Would you like to be in charge of creating a camera for the upcoming blockbuster film, for a space mission, or mounted on a helicopter? Consider putting up the newest model of laser projector for a Hollywood red carpet premiere.
Perhaps a career in the biomedical industry, producing life-saving lasers and diagnostic equipment, would suit you better. Optics and photonics underpin all modern technology, including smartphones, self-driving cars, satellites, fiber-optic communications, the internet, and sensor technologies used to fight climate change. For the world to succeed, it needs people like you. Create the future and secure your place in photonics.
Highlights
- Experiential learning through hands-on work in the biggest undergraduate photonic lab and teaching clean-room facility in Canada.
- Become proficient in laser technologies, electro-optics, fiber-optics, and precision optics.
- An eight-month photonics applied research project is part of the final program year, offering graduates plenty of possibilities for applied learning and making them highly marketable.
