Program description
Try new things and look for fresh ways to push the limits of graphic design. The dynamic subject of graphic design is approached from an applied perspective in this course. To develop your creative and professional talents, you'll make use of resources including professional studios and workshops. Your fundamental knowledge of design and research will be developed, as well as your unique design identity, through practical, practice-based projects.
Throughout the course, you’ll explore a range of approaches and techniques including:
- typography
- interaction
- user experience
- social design
- photography
- animation
- digital design
- book and editorial design
Live projects with the design industry will prepare you for a professional studio. RSA, D&AD, ISTD, Creative Conscience, Extinction Rebellion have collaborated recently.
You'll develop your own visual problem-solving style and graduate with technical, critical, and conceptual skills.
You'll develop your own method of visual problem solving during the course, and you'll graduate with the technical, critical, and conceptual abilities that are highly desired by the creative industries. A variety of jobs, including branding consulting, digital design, illustration, publishing, and advertising, can be attained through this study.

Requirements for applicants
General Entry Requirements
- Acceptable passes in five subjects (exceptionally four subjects) at GCSE or GCE including:
- one 12-unit vocational A-level, or
- two A-levels or two 6-unit vocational A-levels, or
- one A-level or 6-unit vocational A-level plus two AS-levels, or
- two 3-unit vocational A-levels
- A National Certificate or Diploma at a good standard.
- The International Baccalaureate Diploma (minimum of 24 points) or the European Baccalaureate Diploma (minimum of 60%).
- Five subjects in SCE with two at Higher level or one at Advanced Higher level.
- Three subjects in Scottish Highers or two at Advanced Higher level.
- Any other qualifications considered by the Academic Board to be of equivalent standard.
English language requirements
- IELTS level 6.5 or 7.0 overall with 6.5 or 7.0 in all components
Specific entry requirements
- Applicants will need to provide a submission of a digital portfolio of an appropriate standard
