Program description
Human societies are experiencing untold change and uncertainty. And now more than ever, our world needs people with the skills, knowledge and determination to understand new challenges - like:
- how does childcare affect women?
- does tech like TikTok change our behaviour?
- has social distancing impacted our relationships?
You will examine how human behavior and values affect society when you study sociology. You will study current social concerns such socioeconomic class, inequality, and issues of gender, ethnicity, and race.
Investigate health disparities by examining elements like race and social status. You could investigate how today's youth are impacted by economic insecurity. Alternately, you could examine the influences on migration, such as political oppression or climate change.
You'll be a part of a small, tight-knit department where you may get to know your fellow students and teachers well. Additionally, you will acquire in-demand career skills that will help you get a job.
Many sociology graduates pursue postgraduate degrees in several fields. The university's career center can help you plan your future.
