Program description

From planning to carrying out, meticulous arrangement to effective administration, you will experience every step of the process, honing your comprehension and adaptability to various client and stakeholder demands. Your experience is anchored by your capacity to translate these requirements into creative event and exhibition formats.
The Master's program is also intended to assist you in developing a strong portfolio that is customized for the show and event system and is created using carefully chosen real-world briefs that are worked on in conjunction with reputable individuals and businesses.

- Exhibit and Event System and Management
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the exhibition and event system.
- Design Thinking
- Dive into the world of Design Thinking for events and exhibits.
- Exhibition Design
- Explore the foundational principles of exhibition design and develop three different Exhibition projects: Museum spaces and exhibitions, Trade fair spaces and installations, Retail spaces.
- Event Design
- An immersive, hands-on experience, exploring the theory, history, and design of the event sector, by two design workshops - one for a major company, and one for a cultural institution - will offer opportunities to showcase your creativity.
- Major Project
- Develop your own design research under the guidance of the Course Leader.
You can choose a two-year program that includes an internship with external institutions and companies, an internal research internship, or a period of study abroad.
Price
The tuition fee is 15,600 EUR.
If you choose a two-year program with an internship - the cost for the second year is 11,600 EUR.
Requirements for applicants
- To be admitted into the MA course, students must have a second class (2.2) honours or higher in art, design, or other creative disciplines from any recognised ISCED level 6 programme. Graduates in scientific disciplines, social sciences, and humanities can also be selected, as well as candidates who have previously gained significant professional experience in the field of the Master selected.
- SPD also considers other relevant experience and/or the attendance of SPD Preparatory Courses. In addition, international students need an IELTS score of 6.0, with no component below 5.5.

Founded in Milan in 1954, SPD Scuola Politecnica di Design is the first school in Italy dedicated to design disciplines.
Thanks to the mix of its Italian roots and strong international orientation, SPD is now an international laboratory for sharing experiences and creating initiatives by maintaining a balance between function and expression, production and experimentation. Not to mention the honor of receiving the SMAU prize for Industrial Design twice.
