Program description
Students in the Business Fundamentals course get an introduction to the business world that is both comprehensive and open-ended.
The course introduces students to the fundamentals of running a company, including Accounting, Marketing, Human Resources, company Mathematics, and Business Communications.
This program is the first year of study for the Business Core diplomas (Business, Accounting, Human Resources, and Marketing), and students who complete it can go on to earn one of those degrees or use the skills they learned to launch a successful job regardless of what they decide to major in next.
This course is available at our Brockville, Kingston and Cornwall locations.

Admission requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma, or equivalent
- Grade 12 English at the C or U level
- Grade 11 Math at the C, U or M level
English Proficiency requirements are:
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS)-Academic - Overall 6.5 with no band less than 6.0
- TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) or Home Edition - 83
- TOEFL Computer-based Test - 220
- Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL. In-person or Online)* - overall 60
- EIKEN (Test in Practical English Proficiency)* - pre 1
- The Michigan English Test* - Overall 62 with no individual score below 60, ECCE/ECPE 650 or higher
- Cambridge English Proficiency* - 180
