The Culinary Arts Program at St. Lawrence College is a method-based, hands-on, practical, and work-integrated learning opportunity.

In our programs, we emphasize quality over quantity by providing students with approachable Chef teachers who have a wide range of professional experience and who facilitate an atmosphere of teamwork and real-world application.

Our curriculum is intended to teach students about all facets of cuisine, so it includes both theoretical and practical courses. Lessons with a small number of students

Requirements for applicants

Admission requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Grade 12 English at the C, U or E level
  • Grade 11 Math

English Proficiency requirements are:

  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS)-Academic - Overall 6.5 with no band less than 6.0
  • TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) or Home Edition - 83
  • TOEFL Computer-based Test - 220
  • Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL. In-person or Online)* - overall 60
  • EIKEN (Test in Practical English Proficiency)* - pre 1
  • The Michigan English Test* - Overall 62 with no individual score below 60, ECCE/ECPE 650 or higher
  • Cambridge English Proficiency* - 180
  • Duolingo (Temporarily accepted)* - 115
  • Pearson Test of English -Academic (Online & In-person) - 60

*Note: Students from India are not eligible to submit the results of this test as proof of English proficiency.
