Program description
A student who completes the Office Administration - General program will receive a one-year certificate, which will open the door to a variety of entry-level employment prospects in both the private and public sectors.
Students will learn about the following topics:
TECHNICAL ABILITIES
- Basic Office 365/2019 cloud-based computer application skills, such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Outlook 365 teaches students how to create professional email exchanges, create folders to keep organized, and use the Outlook calendar to make appointments and plan meetings.
- Students will be expected to reach a typing speed of 40-50 GWPM.
- Students learn how to exchange and edit documents in the cloud. Students learn how to book, attend, and chair virtual meetings using MS Teams collaboration software.
SOFT ABILITIES
- Customer relationships are formed on the capacity to communicate effectively and consistently, as well as uphold and maintain confidentiality. The capacity to work alone as well as jointly is highly valued.
- Employers need office administrators who are well-organized, forward-thinking, and problem-solvers.
This course is available at our Brockville and Kingston locations.
