Program description
Students in this Ontario College Certificate program will learn the skills necessary to work as personal care and support workers with people and families. The Personal Support Worker may be responsible for helping clients across the lifespan in areas such as home management, coordinating social and recreational activities, and fostering overall health and happiness.
The curriculum conforms to the guidelines set forth by the Ministry of Education, Universities, and Colleges. These criteria represent the increased educational and training requirements for entry-level Personal Support Workers in today's complex health and social care system.
A personal care attendant is a medical professional who is not required to be licensed. Working in a supported independent living setting or under the direction of a regulated health professional, they are an integral part of the care and support team.
