Program description
The modern electrical industry encompasses a vast and varied range of specializations. Employers are always on the lookout for talented individuals with the expertise to design, implement, and maintain complex systems, such as those used for producing and distributing electricity, providing amusement and information, and automating and enhancing production.
Students can acquire the academic knowledge and hands-on experience necessary to compete for these positions by enrolling in the Electrical Engineering Technician program.

Admission requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma, or equivalent
- Grade 12 English at the C or U level
- Grade 11 Math at the C, U or M level
English Proficiency requirements are:
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS)-Academic - Overall 6.0 with no band less than 5.5 (SDS requires an overall 6.0, with no band less than 6.0)
- TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) or Home Edition - 78
- TOEFL Computer-based Test - 213
- Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL. In-person or Online)* - overall 60
- EIKEN (Test in Practical English Proficiency)* - pre 1
- The Michigan English Test* - Overall 58 with no individual score below 56, ECCE/ECPE 650 or higher
