Program description
The General Arts & Science Diploma offers a broad liberal arts curriculum built with the help of our community partners to prepare students for the workforce, alternative college programs, or university transfer. General Arts and Science Diploma graduates leave us prepared for their next steps out into the world, thanks to hands-on training and exciting new experiential learning possibilities.
Core courses establish a strong foundation in communication, critical thinking, digital literacy, numeracy, inclusivity, science, and general education. These are supplemented with electives such as Film, Addictions, Fitness, Psychology, and hundreds more. Before graduating, our students must complete at least three Advanced Level Learning credits in practical and social sciences, math, and/or communications.
GAS Diploma students will learn to explore numerous local concerns and utilize the skills and knowledge learned in the curriculum to give creative solutions to one specific problem in a community throughout the third and fourth semesters.
