Program description
Students who earn their General Arts & Science Diploma are well-prepared for further education or the job market. Classes in these areas are considered essential and include English, history, geography, mathematics, logic, science, and general studies. Classes like Film, Addictions, Fitness, and Psychology can be taken as options. Courses are selected in consultation with the program supervisor to best suit each individual's goals and objectives.
You'll have to take foundational courses in reading, writing, speaking, listening, mathematics, logic, science, and general education. It is recommended that you consult with a program adviser before making any final decisions regarding electives. Diploma recipients have options, including the labor market and higher education.

- Ontario Secondary School Diploma, or equivalent
- Grade 12 English at the C or U level
- Grade 11 Math at the C, U or M level
English Proficiency requirements are:
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS)-Academic - Overall 6.0 with no band less than 5.5 (SDS requires an overall 6.0, with no band less than 6.0)
- TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) or Home Edition - 78
- TOEFL Computer-based Test - 213
- Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL. In-person or Online)* - overall 60
- EIKEN (Test in Practical English Proficiency)* - pre 1
- The Michigan English Test* - Overall 58 with no individual score below 56, ECCE/ECPE 650 or higher
