Program description
Start a career in Health Information and help fill the national practitioner need. If you want to work in healthcare, like computers, and don't want to provide direct patient care, consider becoming a Health Information professional.
This program prepares graduates to use the newest technology to provide effective patient care in many health settings. Biomedical sciences, digital health, health analytics, privacy, and health law are covered.
This program is recognized by CCHIM (CCHIM). Graduates can take the CCHIM national certification exam and utilize CHIM as their professional designation.
The Canadian College of Health Information Management develops accreditation and certification criteria for educational institutions and health information professionals in Canada.

Admission requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma, or equivalent
- Grade 12 English at the C or U level
- Grade 11 Math at the C, U or M level
- Grade 11 or 12 Biology at the C or U level
English Proficiency requirements are:
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS)-Academic - Overall 6.0 with no band less than 5.5 (SDS requires an overall 6.0, with no band less than 6.0)
- TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) or Home Edition - 78
- TOEFL Computer-based Test - 213
- Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL. In-person or Online)* - overall 60
- EIKEN (Test in Practical English Proficiency)* - pre 1
