Program description
In 46 weeks, you can become a Law Clerk and apply law in a variety of contexts.
This program prepares students to work in law offices, government agencies, legal clinics, financial institutions, and businesses. Our three-semester curriculum covers legal processes and substantive law for law clerks. Property, civil litigation, family, criminal, wills and estates, legal research and writing, and corporate law are emphasized. Students learn legal document creation techniques and software. Program emphasizes career growth. A four-week work placement gives students practical work experience and employer exposure.
The program aims to develop law clerks who can do autonomous legal work as part of a team assisting practicing lawyers. Combining business and legal disciplines gives a solid foundation for careers that apply law to specific interests. Courthouses, government agencies, community legal clinics, academic institutions, private enterprises, insurance companies, and financial institutions are examples of recent employers.
