Program description
The MDM Program is unique in Canada. This demanding program promotes music, video, and audio recording skills. MDM equips students for careers in music and media and subsequent education.
The curriculum focuses on integrating art mediums creatively. Music studies include video production and audio recording. Students receive 10 private application sessions every semester on their primary instrument (or voice). Second-year students learn composition, entrepreneurship, and integrated arts projects like performance, sound design, and installation art.
Results:
- Develop personal and professional vocal and/or instrumental skills.
- Use music history, theory, and/or visual form to interpret a work's structure, style, content, and aesthetic aspects.
- Create digital music recordings for creative, promotional, or multimedia use.
- Create music videos for creative or advertising use.
- Translate musical composition parts into visual surroundings utilizing digital technologies and industry standard tools.
- Manage and promote music and multimedia projects using creative-industry entrepreneurial abilities.

Requirements for applicants
Admission requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma, or equivalent
- Grade 12 English at the C or U level
- Grade 11 Math at the C, U or M level
- Successful performance recording and musical background
English Proficiency requirements are:
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS)-Academic - Overall 6.0 with no band less than 5.5 (SDS requires an overall 6.0, with no band less than 6.0)
- TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) or Home Edition - 78
- TOEFL Computer-based Test - 213
- Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL. In-person or Online)* - overall 60
- EIKEN (Test in Practical English Proficiency)* - pre 1
