Program description
The Music Theatre - Performance curriculum provides academic and practical training in the three major disciplines of acting, singing, and dance to aspiring musical theatre artists.
Students are guided by our experienced teachers through personalized training and coaching, as well as classes in stagecraft, musical theatre history, music theory, and audition preparation.
This rigorous "triple threat" program allows you to improve your abilities by performing in front of audiences in studio, main stage, and our unique touring shows, where students learn to create and produce creative theatrical pieces. Our students are mentored by academics and guest industry professionals in order to become proficient and job-ready in a competitive and continually changing industry.

Requirements for applicants
Admission requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma, or equivalent
- Grade 12 English at the C or U level
- Grade 11 Math
- Successful performance audition (additional fee)
English Proficiency requirements are:
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS)-Academic - Overall 6.0 with no band less than 5.5 (SDS requires an overall 6.0, with no band less than 6.0)
- TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) or Home Edition - 78
- TOEFL Computer-based Test - 213
- Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL. In-person or Online)* - overall 60
- EIKEN (Test in Practical English Proficiency)* - pre 1
- The Michigan English Test* - Overall 58 with no individual score below 56, ECCE/ECPE 650 or higher
- Cambridge English Proficiency* - 173
