Program description
A student who completes the Office Administration - Health Services program will get a two-year diploma, opening the door to a number of professional options in both the private and public sectors. Graduate employment numbers announced in the fall of 2019 ranged from 95 percent to 100 percent.
Students will receive expertise in the following areas:
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Advanced level Office 365/2019 cloud-based computer application skills such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, OneNote, and so on.
- Outlook 365 - students gain proficiency in composing professional email communications, establishing folders to keep organized, and using the Outlook calendar to make appointments and plan meetings.
- Accuro EMR, Adobe Acrobat DC Pro, and Sage 50 are some of the other software packages available.
- Students must attain a keyboarding speed of 50-60 GWPM.
- Students learn how to share and modify papers in a cloud-based environment. Students learn how to book, attend, and chair virtual meetings using Microsoft Teams collaboration software.
SOFT SKILLS
- Client, patient, and consumer relationships are founded on effective and regular communication, as well as the capacity to uphold and retain confidentiality. The ability to operate both independently and collaboratively is highly praised.
- Employers need office administrators who are well-organized, forward-thinking, and problem-solvers. Students can improve these skills by learning by doing through regular classroom exercises and participation in student work placements.

- International English Language Testing System (IELTS)-Academic - Overall 6.0 with no band less than 5.5 (SDS requires an overall 6.0, with no band less than 6.0)
- TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) or Home Edition - 78
