Program description
This two-year Ontario College Diploma program prepares students to serve as front-line service providers in a wide range of social care settings.
The SSW program teaches you how to work supportively with a wide range of populations, including those dealing with mental health concerns, substance misuse, settlement troubles, poverty, educational challenges, homelessness, abuse, and trauma.

Admission requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma, or equivalent
- Grade 12 English at the C or U level
- Grade 11 Math
English Proficiency requirements are:
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS)-Academic - Overall 6.0 with no band less than 5.5 (SDS requires an overall 6.0, with no band less than 6.0)
- TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) or Home Edition - 78
- TOEFL Computer-based Test - 213
- Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL. In-person or Online)* - overall 60
- EIKEN (Test in Practical English Proficiency)* - pre 1
- The Michigan English Test* - Overall 58 with no individual score below 56, ECCE/ECPE 650 or higher
