Program description
Programme Objectives
This programme has been designed to produce civil engineering professionals who are well-equipped with knowledge, practical skills, and leadership abilities in response to the manpower requirements of major infrastructure projects and secondary school graduates' aspirations for degree study. It will help students improve their problem-solving, collaboration, communication, leadership/management abilities, and ethical attitudes. The degree offers a wide variety of professional expertise in civil and structural engineering, geotechnics, the environment, hydraulics, transportation and infrastructure, and management. The learning experience is further enhanced with a 3-month work-integrated learning program and 80 hours of Building Information Modeling training, as well as a general education study designed to prepare for a profession. Graduates of this program will be professionally competent, as well as socially and globally engaged.
Career Prospects
Graduates can work as assistant engineers, graduate engineers, civil, structural, and geotechnical engineers, project coordinators, site agents, and project managers in government departments (such as the Development Bureau and the Environmental Protection Department), public utilities (such as railways and electric companies), consulting firms, construction companies, and relevant suppliers and manufacturers.

About the university

The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) was founded in 2012 and is a Vocational Training Council (VTC) member institute.
