Program description

Programme Objectives

This curriculum aims to provide students with a solid foundation of knowledge and abilities in professional accounting, preparing them to become competent accountants quickly after graduation and eventually to take on managerial responsibilities in professional accounting and allied firms. Students will get training in accounting, finance, taxation, and corporate governance at the local, national, and global levels. The degree also helps students improve their sensitivity and creativity in accounting and corporate financial resource management in order to satisfy the demands and growth of the Hong Kong and Mainland China business environments.

Career Prospects

Graduates are expected to accept entry-level roles in professional accounting companies as well as company or government entities, such as audit, taxation, or management trainees and accounting officers. They will be able to function with short learning curves in the workplace and comprehend the strategic responsibilities of company from a management standpoint. After having adequate job experience, they will be ready to advance to managerial positions in their industries, such as professional accountants or department managers.

Requirements for applicants

  • Appropriate level of English: IELTS Academic 5.5/TOEFL iBT 79

About the university

The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) was founded in 2012 and is a Vocational Training Council (VTC) member institute.
