Program description

Students who complete the School of Art & Design's Art Education degree are prepared to teach art at all levels of public, private, and community education.

Our mission is to increase the accessibility of art-making for kids, teens, and young people. A semester of student teaching in public schools will be the culmination of your training, which will include studio, art history, art theory & practice, and education courses. Furthermore, community participation options, ranging from semester-long internships to short-term field work, will expand your academic experience and get you ready to work as a professional in the field of art education.
