Program description
The study of communication studies looks at how we create, express, and evaluate communications in our private, professional, and public spheres. To handle message processes within and among individuals, groups, organizations, and communities, Communication Studies majors develop social intelligence, critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. Students study business and organizational communication, health communication, argumentation and persuasion, rhetoric and criticism, and verbal and nonverbal communication in relationships. Alumni thrive as powerful leaders, problem-solving team players, highly skilled researchers, gifted authors, and captivating presenters in a variety of cultural, professional, social, and private contexts.
