Program description
Preparation for Italian universities for those wishing to major in the visual arts, fashion design, or architecture.
Master the Italian language and acquire the background you need to get into the top Italian universities and design academies for undergraduate study. In a welcoming, global setting, you can hone your technical abilities while pursuing your passions.
A comprehensive overview of Italian art and design is offered by this pathway program. While you figure out what kind of art or design you want to study, it helps you put up a portfolio and study for admission exams. Upon completion of the Foundation Year, students are eligible for direct admission to local Academies of Fine Arts and Design.
Program structure
The Program includes a 540-hour Italian language and culture course, and 300 hours of discipline-specific courses, entirely taught in English:

Requirements for applicants
- Must have completed at least 11 years of schooling (from primary school to high school diploma) and have obtained a high school diploma (final certification) accompanied by a transcript or report card of the last year.
- An official translation should be provided for original documents that are not in English, Italian, French, German, Spanish or Portuguese.
- if the student is still studying at the time of application, they can submit the diploma at a later stage
- Must have an independent level of English language. Native English speakers and students who have completed their secondary education in English are exempt (in some cases, a remote oral competence test can be requested). All other students are required to provide proof of certification with a minimum level of:
- IELTS Academic 5.0
- Cambridge Scale: 150 points (Preliminary B or higher)
- Duolingo English Test: 80 points, or equivalent)
- TOEFL iBT: 45 points
- equivalent certified tests from recognized assessment bodies
- Must be between 17 and 30 years old by the start of the program.
- For minor students, a legal guardian is required. During the enrollment process, it is necessary to fill out and send via email a form confirming that the student will turn 18 by the end of the program.

The Italian Academy, founded in 1984, is a center that trains students for admission to first-class universities around the world.
Situated in the middle of Siracusa, adjacent to the park and archaeological museum, it is within easy walking distance of the city's main retail streets, the beach, and the island of Ortygia.
Located on more than two acres of verdant botanical garden, our campus's main building is a historic villa. The garden is home to a wide variety of exotic trees and plants, including citrus trees, Mediterranean flora, magnolias, palms that are over a century old, and more. This picturesque location is frequently used for outdoor education, culinary classes, workshops, and other events.
