Program description
A Bachelor of Health Science in Western Herbal Medicine teaches human biology and physiology as well as the history and philosophy of Western herbal medicine, as well as the knowledge and abilities to apply it today. You'll learn how to create herbal prescriptions utilising therapeutic plants from throughout the world, as well as how to incorporate biomedical science, research, and traditional knowledge into evidence-based practise.
You will learn about health science, clinical assessment, pharmacology, herbal synergy, quality and safety problems affecting prescribing decisions during your studies. You will also learn how to provide basic nutrition and lifestyle advise to your customers as part of your Western Herbal course practise for a more holistic approach to healing. At The Practice Wellbeing Centre, you will acquire hands-on experience consulting with members of the public while being guided by seasoned Western herbal medicine practitioners. Work-Integrated Learning and Clinical Practicum Experience are integrated into theory areas and are imbedded throughout the course.
