Program description
A Graduate Certificate in Education (Special Education) provides you with the specialised knowledge, experience, and abilities needed to establish supportive learning environments and increase inclusion of students with a variety of additional learning needs. This course is beneficial to teachers and other professionals who want to increase their knowledge about special education.
This course analyses concerns and challenges experienced by people with a variety of additional learning requirements using a design-thinking approach. This special needs teacher training is informed by advanced theoretical knowledge and focuses on problem solving from a person-first perspective, which transforms the role of the person at the centre from passive acceptance to a more active one that recognises their particular needs. Please keep in mind that because this is not an accredited Australian Initial Teacher Education programme, you will not be able to teach in Australia.
