Program description
A Diploma in Graphic Design provides a comprehensive foundation of general and specialised knowledge, with an emphasis on design awareness, problem-solving, and technical skills. It lays the groundwork for graphic design by integrating theory with hands-on experience. You'll create a portfolio to display your talents with the help of industry professionals, and you'll graduate ready to meet the various needs of a fast-paced, visually literate society.
Throughout the course, you will investigate graphic design theory, practise, and human connections. You'll question existing graphic design standards and provide interesting, relevant, and unique solutions for everything from digital signs and point-of-sale materials to books and billboards. Design history and principles, idea development, brand identity, typography, design research, and user experience will all be covered. By studying logos, symbols, and brands, you will be able to create your own distinctive brand and workshop it with other students, allowing you to see your designs through the eyes of others. You will also learn how to use industry-standard graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, with confidence and flare.
