Program description

At UCA Canterbury, our BA (Hons) Fine Art degree program will help you develop your creative interests, acquire new skills, explore, and polish your work, interests, and way of thinking.

We encourage you to approach your work with curiosity, grow concepts and topics, and solidify your methods. You'll experiment with a variety of traditional and modern mediums, including painting, sculpture, installation, photography, film, sound, performance, animation, and printmaking, with the help of our professionals. You'll also gain marketing and self-promotional abilities, as well as a profound theoretical and critical grasp of fine art. There will be many of chances for you to interact with other students, establish friends, and develop a professional network that will serve as a solid base for your future career.

With the plethora of transferrable skills you'll get from this course and your inventiveness, adaptability, and tireless, flexible work ethic, you'll stand out from the competition.

You can enroll in an Integrated International Foundation Year, which was created especially to give international students English language and creative skills before they start their first year of study.

As part of this degree, you can also choose to complete a Professional Practice Year. You will have the chance to reach your full professional, academic, and personal potential as a result, giving you the tools you need to operate confidently and enthusiastically in creative environments. Fee for two semesters (1 year) is 17,500 GBP for international students

Requirements for applicants

If you do not have qualifications from the United Kingdom, we will accept equivalent qualifications from your native country for admittance into our programs.

In addition to academic credentials, some of our courses require a portfolio of previous work.

For our Bachelor's courses, we usually require that you have:

  • High school leaving certificate or equivalent.
  • A transcript showing successful completion of one year of a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with CGPA 3.8.

Portfolio requirements

For these course, you must perform an individual piece as an audition. This piece can be up to two minutes long and can be one of the following: a brief modern text (play or screenplay); a short piece of Shakespeare; or an original work you have composed.
