Program description
Our BA (Hons) Games Arts course at UCA Farnham focuses on building entirely new worlds and characters. You'll learn the abilities to become a true team player who is prepared for a job in the gaming business on this practice-based games degree.
The Rookies-accredited, this course will provide you the skills need to develop as a games artist while also enhancing your ability to collaborate with others to build games in a way that mimics industry standards.
Using top-notch facilities, cutting-edge hardware, and the most recent tools, like Autodesk Maya, Substance, Quixel Suite, Zbrush, Marvelous Designer, Marmoset Toolbag, and game engines like Unity and Unreal, you'll hone your talents.
You can take advantage of our great industry connections to companies like Rebellion, SEGA, Creative Assembly, and SuperMassive Games, as well as opportunities to interact with students in our Games Technology programme.
You will be prepared to start a career in the industry once you have finished the course. In the UK and elsewhere, former graduates have gone on to work at AAA, iii, and independent video game companies.
You can enroll in an Integrated International Foundation Year, which was created especially to give international students English language and creative skills before they start their first year of study.
As part of this degree, you can also choose to complete a Professional Practice Year. You will have the chance to reach your full professional, academic, and personal potential as a result, giving you the tools you need to operate confidently and enthusiastically in creative environments. These abilities are highly recognized by employers, and a sizable percentage of placement students receive graduate-level employment offers or continue on to postgraduate study.

Requirements for applicants
If you do not have qualifications from the United Kingdom, we will accept equivalent qualifications from your native country for admittance into our programs.
In addition to academic credentials, some of our courses require a portfolio of previous work.
For our Bachelor's courses, we usually require that you have:
- High school leaving certificate or equivalent.
- A transcript showing successful completion of one year of a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with CGPA 3.8.

Portfolio requirements
For these course, you must perform an individual piece as an audition. This piece can be up to two minutes long and can be one of the following: a brief modern text (play or screenplay); a short piece of Shakespeare; or an original work you have composed.
