Program description
On our cutting edge BSc (Hons) Industrial Develop degree program at UCA Canterbury, get technical as you design and create the next generation of items that will enrich and enhance our lives.
You will have plenty of fascinating opportunity to create advanced prototypes of your work with access to our vast workshop facilities, which include 3D digital design software, laser cutting, CNC technology, virtual reality, and spatial tracking technology.
You'll investigate the production process from start to finish and even question what industrial design is nowadays. Creating prototypes, pitching ideas to investors, and establishing a scientific grasp of materials and their interactions are some of the transferrable skills you'll learn in this course.
You can enroll in an Integrated International Foundation Year, which was created especially to give international students English language and creative skills before they start their first year of study.
In order to ensure that you graduate with a wealth of knowledge and experience and are prepared to enter a variety of industries with a production element, you will benefit from interaction with industry during the course through live project opportunities, masterclasses, and optionally - professional work experience placement, if you choose the Professional Practice Year pathway.

Requirements for applicants
If you do not have qualifications from the United Kingdom, we will accept equivalent qualifications from your native country for admittance into our programs.
In addition to academic credentials, some of our courses require a portfolio of previous work.
For our Bachelor's courses, we usually require that you have:
- High school leaving certificate or equivalent.
- A transcript showing successful completion of one year of a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with CGPA 3.8.

Portfolio requirements
For these course, you must perform an individual piece as an audition. This piece can be up to two minutes long and can be one of the following: a brief modern text (play or screenplay); a short piece of Shakespeare; or an original work you have composed.
