Program description
The BA (Hons) Interior Decoration and Styling program at UCA will help you develop into a self-assured expert with specialized understanding of sustainable material specification and modern design visualization.
You will have the freedom to establish your own distinctive specialties, such as materials specification and performance, or brand-led style composition and photography, and you will develop your own highly unique design identity and style. You will be based in the School of Architecture and Design at UCA Canterbury. Along the way, you'll have access to cutting-edge fabrication and testing techniques, cutting-edge scanning and virtual reality (VR) technology, as well as a variety of conventional craft-based workshops, photo studios, and print facilities, all of which will let you bring your design concepts to life.
You'll benefit from opportunities for collaboration with students enrolled in our other courses, like product and furniture design and interior architecture, as well as instruction from our staff of highly qualified academics and business professionals. You'll have the chance to interact with and present your work to seasoned practitioners through the exploration of genuine briefs and contexts, and after graduation, you'll join the school's enlarged network of mentors and career counselors.
You can enroll in an Integrated International Foundation Year, which was created especially to give international students English language and creative skills before they start their first year of study.
In order to ensure that you graduate prepared for the workforce, you will gain experience working with industry through actual project opportunities, masterclasses, and optionally a professional work placement if you choose the Professional Practice Year pathway.

Requirements for applicants
If you do not have qualifications from the United Kingdom, we will accept equivalent qualifications from your native country for admittance into our programs.
In addition to academic credentials, some of our courses require a portfolio of previous work.
For our Bachelor's courses, we usually require that you have:
- High school leaving certificate or equivalent.
- A transcript showing successful completion of one year of a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with CGPA 3.8.

Portfolio requirements
For these course, you must perform an individual piece as an audition. This piece can be up to two minutes long and can be one of the following: a brief modern text (play or screenplay); a short piece of Shakespeare; or an original work you have composed.
