Program description
On our BA (Hons) Jewelry and Silversmithing program at UCA Farnham, students combine the traditional with the contemporary to produce magnificent creations.
We support a variety of approaches to jewellery and silversmithing and give you the specialized technical and artistic abilities you need to develop your ideas and give them life.
As you participate in international contests, placements, and industrial initiatives, you will acquire invaluable practical experience. With accolades including the Guild of Enamellers' Bursary Award, the Goldsmith's Company Award, and Bright Young Gems, our gifted students have a stellar reputation in the industry.
You will have access to our fully-stocked workshops and cutting-edge jewelry studio during your studies, giving you the chance to experiment with a variety of materials like metal, ceramics, glass, wood, polymers, and fabrics.
All of your lecturers are renowned designers, makers, or researchers, so you can be sure that everything you learn on the course will be applicable to real-life working contexts. Along the way, you will learn from true authorities in the field.
You can enroll in an Integrated International Foundation Year, which was created especially to give international students English language and creative skills before they start their first year of study.
As part of this degree, you can also choose to complete a Professional Practice Year. You will have the chance to reach your full professional, academic, and personal potential as a result, giving you the tools you need to operate confidently and enthusiastically in creative environments. These abilities are highly recognized by employers, and a sizable percentage of placement students receive graduate-level employment offers or continue on to postgraduate study.

Requirements for applicants
If you do not have qualifications from the United Kingdom, we will accept equivalent qualifications from your native country for admittance into our programs.
In addition to academic credentials, some of our courses require a portfolio of previous work.
For our Bachelor's courses, we usually require that you have:
- High school leaving certificate or equivalent.
- A transcript showing successful completion of one year of a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with CGPA 3.8.

Portfolio requirements
For these course, you must perform an individual piece as an audition. This piece can be up to two minutes long and can be one of the following: a brief modern text (play or screenplay); a short piece of Shakespeare; or an original work you have composed.
