Program description
On our BA (Hons) Landscape Architecture degree program, you will get the advanced skills necessary to become a licensed landscape architect as well as specialized knowledge of ecological and environmental design.
You'll learn about a variety of spatial techniques while based at UCA Canterbury's School of Architecture and Design, where you'll also get an appreciation for the value that a landscape architect can bring to projects, the larger community, and society. You will have access to cutting-edge fabrication and testing methods, cutting-edge scanning and virtual reality technology, and a number of conventional craft-based workshops, all of which will let you realize your creative concepts. You will be free to create your own distinctive specialties, such as practical knowledge of plants, and you will create your own very own design identity and style.
You will have the chance to work with your peers in different design specialties, such architecture and urban design, with the support of a wide range of industry specialists throughout the course. You will have the chance to interact with and present your work to seasoned practitioners through the exploration of real briefs and contexts, and after graduation you will join the school's enlarged network of mentors and career counselors.
You can enroll in an Integrated International Foundation Year, which was created especially to give international students English language and creative skills before they start their first year of study.
In order to ensure that you graduate prepared for the workforce, you will gain experience working with industry through actual project opportunities, masterclasses, and optionally a professional work placement if you choose the Professional Practice Year pathway.

Year 3
Guided by our experienced industry experts and practitioners, you will identify and develop your own unique landscape briefs and explore challenging and aspirational responses to them. Your final year is your opportunity to refine your unique landscape design specialisms and show off your design identity, which you will achieve through a professional portfolio of advanced drawings, models and prototypes.

Fee for two semesters (1 year) is 17,500 GBP for international students

Requirements for applicants
If you do not have qualifications from the United Kingdom, we will accept equivalent qualifications from your native country for admittance into our programs.
In addition to academic credentials, some of our courses require a portfolio of previous work.
For our Bachelor's courses, we usually require that you have:
- High school leaving certificate or equivalent.
- A transcript showing successful completion of one year of a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with CGPA 3.8.

Portfolio requirements
For these course, you must perform an individual piece as an audition. This piece can be up to two minutes long and can be one of the following: a brief modern text (play or screenplay); a short piece of Shakespeare; or an original work you have composed.
