In this course, you'll discover how critical it is to accurately capture a moment in time, how to use your images to communicate the essence of a problem, and how to reach a global audience.

Additionally, you'll study about the development of digital journalism as well as how imagery plays a role in how audiences consume news on mobile devices.

This course is for you if you want to advance your career as a photojournalist or if you want to contribute to the growth of digital journalism. You will receive advice from our team of professionals and have access to our cutting-edge resources within our Film & Media Centre.

Additionally, you will have the choice of completing a Professional Practice Year or a shorter placement to gain significant job experience before graduating.

You’ll learn the basics of media law and regulation and start to consider ethical challenges including ensuring social inclusivity in what you produce. Finally, you’ll aim to see your first work published.
  • The second year gives you the chance to develop a specialism and work out how to cover it for different audiences and media outlets. You’ll also learn the essential journalistic areas of law and public affairs while considering how to represent ideas in photographic images and developing more sophistication in your use of modern digital tools.
  • The final year provides an opportunity to explore the latest developments in journalism, photography and digital content creation.
