Program description
Accounting entails methodical procedures that are required in all sectors. While bookkeepers might help with entering simple financial transactions, accountants are in charge of more complex duties. To create accurate financial accounts, reports, and records, accountants, as professionals, keep track of income, expenses, assets, and obligations. By helping with budget creation, financial record analysis, and income tax reporting, they support both people and corporations in managing their finances. With in-depth instruction in accounting best practices, the Master of Science in Accounting program equips you for these duties. Choose electives based on your interests in marketing, finance, business, and healthcare.
Program structure
In addition to fulfilling your prerequisites, you will finish 18 units of graduate accounting coursework in our AACSB-accredited program. Your overall program completion time and expense can be decreased by applying any upper-division prerequisites (listed below) you have completed to the remaining 12 hours of optional requirements. You can enroll in more graduate-level accounting or non-accounting courses using any leftover elective credits. Finance, MIS, and data analytics are among the elective focus areas. It's ideal for people who want to work in accounting but don't have an undergraduate degree in the field, as well as for people who want to pursue an elective concentration area to get a second area of competence.
