Program description
The BA (Hons) Critical Practice in Fashion Media course is delivered at London College of Fashion and is a distinctive programme that uses fashion media as a tool for critical engagement and positive change, with a focus on social, racial, and climate justice. In the first year, students learn from global fashion activists, developing skills in storytelling, futures thinking, and experimentation with writing and emerging media.
The second year focuses on setting objectives for change and measuring impact on communities, with an optional work placement to observe industry change firsthand. In the final year, students combine their skills to research and realise an independent Critical Practice project aimed at producing meaningful change, with an option to develop it as a business plan.
Throughout the course, work is supported by cultural and historical frameworks from the Cultural and Historical Studies team, grounding creative practice in critical theory.
