Program description
The BA Performance: Design and Practice course is delivered at Central Saint Martins and is an interdisciplinary programme for makers of both live and screen-based performance. It challenges traditional authorship by encouraging experimental, design-led work and developing practical tools in scenography, dramaturgy, and movement.
The course fosters a diverse and supportive community that celebrates difference and encourages creative risk-taking, believing in performance's potential to change society. It offers a flexible approach, allowing students to chart their own creative pathway and adapt to the pressures of a contemporary career in an increasingly digital world.
Students graduate as multi-disciplinary practitioners into wide-ranging careers as performance designers, directors, artists, and creative facilitators across numerous fields. The course is committed to embedding UAL's Principles for Climate, Social, and Racial Justice to develop ethical performance practices.
