Program description
The MA Fashion Futures programme at London College of Fashion places sustainability at the core of fashion practice, encouraging students to critique the industry's purpose and envision alternative, nature-first systems for the future. It combines experimental practice with theoretical perspectives to conceptualise a transformed fashion system that prioritises environmental, social, and economic values.
Students explore diverse methodologies and forms of communication, such as film, digital platforms, and prototyping, to develop a personal critique of current paradigms. The course employs a systems thinking approach, connecting fashion's social, cultural, environmental, and economic aspects across local and global scales. It provides a space to experiment with new ideas, challenge existing narratives, and align practice with individual strengths and future aspirations, supported by engagement with UAL's research community and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
