Program description

The MA Fashion Media and Communication programme at London College of Fashion is a ground‑breaking, practice‑based course that challenges the sector by developing agile, innovative leaders for emerging and future roles. It embraces fashion as a technology of worldbuilding, taking a radically transdisciplinary approach that traverses boundaries between visual communication, creative direction, experience design, gaming, strategy, and futuring to form emergent disciplines and new models of making.

Positioned at the intersection of digital primacy - where fashion brands operate as media platforms - the course is actively future‑focused, encouraging students to disrupt existing approaches through design thinking, co‑creation, prototyping, and entrepreneurship. You will explore opportunities offered by AI, gaming, hybridised experiences, community building, and speculative initiatives, while developing creative, technical, and organisational skills.

Structured in three stages - Explore, Situate, Integrate - the course blends rapid sprint briefs with in‑depth investigations through individual and group work, guided by diverse theoretical and methodological frameworks. Graduates are equipped to work in emerging fields such as experiential design, creative direction, UI/UX, AI product design, organisation design, strategy, and futurology.
