Program description
The MA Fashion Photography programme at London College of Fashion approaches the discipline by first disaggregating fashion and photography as two distinct, all-encompassing fields. This foundational separation avoids reductive interpretations and acknowledges that both are complex, evolving systems shaped by social, cultural, and economic forces.
The course examines the sophisticated interplay between fashion as material and photography as medium, exploring how their entanglement extends far beyond the image. This unique ontological framework establishes a distinctive postgraduate discourse, setting a benchmark for advanced practice in contemporary fashion photography.
Program structure
- Block 1: EXPLORE – supports the transition to postgraduate level study and new thinking of fashion photography (as anti-thesis) through the following units:

On successful completion of these units, you are eligible for the award of a Postgraduate Certificate. (60 credits)
