Program description

The University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw offers a practical course of study in animal behavior and psychology for those who wish to work with animals that accompany people on a daily basis, such as dogs, cats, horses, rodents, rabbits, or birds, as behaviorists, trainers, responsible breeders, or professional caregivers. In addition to gaining concise academic information, this study will equip you with practical professional skills through many workshops, field exercises, and internships that are essential components of the curriculum.

Throughout your studies, you will investigate and gain the ability to apply the knowledge of zoology and ethology (the science of animal behavior), as well as psychology (primarily cognitive and behavioral). This will enable you to accurately interpret animal behavior and language, solve behavioral issues in animals, aid in the socialization process, and raise and train animals based on positive motivation and forming bonds with humans. By selecting an animal therapy specialization, you will also acquire hands-on experience in hippotherapy and dog therapy, assisting with animal rehabilitation operations, and starting your own animal therapy-related business.
