Program description
Learn how to create visual content and digital products using state-of-the-art generative AI platforms and code-based generative design in the MA Generative Design & AI graduate course. Generative Design & AI prepares students for the future by teaching them cutting-edge AI tools (Midjourney, DALL-E), which will equip them to create something completely new, something that will be in great demand across many different industries, and something that will be original.
Those who earn a degree can anticipate a wide variety of digital jobs in fields such as social media, advertising, fashion, sports, and entertainment, as well as digital goods for the retail, health, and wellness sectors.
As the world's first practice-led master's degree, it educates aspiring designers in cutting-edge generative AI software. We are seeking applicants that have a background in user interface/user experience design, communication/graphic design, product design, or any technology-related area who are eager to enhance their creative abilities.

Price
Fee for two semesters (1 year) is 10938,00 euro for international students
The tuition fee includes:
- Advanced teaching by faculty with real-world experience
- Personal career planning support from our Career Center colleagues
- Enrollment fee, examination fee, bachelor's or master's thesis fee
- State-of-the-art equipment in the teaching rooms and the technology lending facility (Arsenal)
- Free German or English language courses for enrolled students
- The possibility to individually choose modules from other programs as part of your curriculum
- Access to the Job Teaser online platform, through which UE connects you with practice partners and regional companies
- Use of the UE campus including library, cafeteria, WLAN and other services
Also once you are accepted as a student, you will be asked to pay a reservation fee of € 3,000. The reservation fee is a one-time payment that will sercure your spot and that will be deducted from the total cost of the programme, before you are invoiced for tuition.
For example: If your total programme costs 30,000 € and the reservation fee is paid (3,000 €), you would only be invoiced for the remaining 27,000 € in tuition once you start studying.
Requirements for applicants
Admission to a Master's Degree program in Generative Design & AI
The following requirements apply for the start of a Master's degree:
- High school/ bachelor diploma and transcript undergraduate degree (Bachelor, MBA or Master) officially translated to English or German;
- Motivation letter (min. 500 words)
Please note: Non-native speakers need a German language diploma with at least level 2 (C1).
