Program description
This course provides the desired integration through our pedagogical approach and emphasis on practical applications of mathematics and statistical methods. For instance, you will utilize the mathematical computing laboratories as a fundamental component of your educational experience, rendering your study both experiential and theoretical.
Our Computing Science and Mathematics division offers an engaging and supportive educational atmosphere, complemented by a robust and dynamic research group. The main focus is the application of mathematics to biology, economics, and life sciences, and we provide combined Honours degrees in the pertinent subjects.
Mathematical Competition in Modeling
Since 2011, teams from the University of Stirling have been competing in an international tournament organized by COMAP (USA). In 2017, more than 8,500 teams from throughout the globe participated. It is an excellent method to acquire research and leadership abilities. In 2017, four of our teams were in the top 9% globally.

- High school certificate or equivalent:
- India: Successful completion of 12th with a Pass including Maths OR successful completion of 11th with 50% with a pass in Maths
- Russia and CIS: Successful completion of Year 11 Secondary school leaving certificate with a cumulative GPA 4, with 4.0 in Maths
- English Language Requirements:
- IELTS 5.0 (minimum 5.0 in all sub skills) or equivalent
