Program description
Only archaeology can examine every part of human history spanning over three million years.
The Archaeology major at UWA unites specialized units of study in areas such as rock art, human beginnings and symbols, fieldwork, archaeobotany, archaeozoology, dating methods, DNA analysis, and heritage. There are three field schools every year to help you hone your practical abilities in addition to the theoretical knowledge you'll gain in the lab.
Australian, African, American, Asian, and even European archaeologists are hard at work in the field right now! UWA is also a part of the study area that encompasses the Indian Ocean. There is a field school for rock art and/or archaeology that you can enroll in during your second and third years.
