Program description
From political philosophy to athletics, religion to architecture, the modern world is encircled by the traditions of the ancient Greeks and Romans. We are, in many respects, the heirs to the classical past. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the dynamic and evergreen classical period with this major, which integrates the history, literature, religion, languages, and material culture of the Roman and Greek civilizations. Great powers rising and falling, imperialism's aftereffects, religious strife, and shifting gender norms and expectations are just a few of the pressing concerns that the ancient Greeks and Romans faced. This major is unique to UWA; no other university in Western Australia offers it.
