Program description
As a result of several fields' interest in criminals and criminal behavior, criminology has developed as an interdisciplinary field.
With a stronger emphasis on criminology, psychology, and history, our Criminology major offers a more condensed overview of information and viewpoints connected to crime compared to the bachelor's degree. Learn about the present criminal justice system, best practices for working with offenders, and national and international issues that effect policy making in the field of criminal justice through core criminology coursework. You will also gain an understanding of the current theories and explanations for crime and criminality.
Options for electives include a psychology unit on criminal behaviour, a history unit on crime and punishment in the US and Europe, and a unit on transnational and international crime and methods to prevent modern crime and justice issues in Australia.
