Program description
Gendered studies examine how gender interacts with other social categories like sexual orientation, race, and class. It investigates the cultural texts, everyday practices, and institutions that influence students' gendered lives, as well as the social and cultural legacies that define our modern lives.
Students learn analytical, communication, and advocacy skills to promote diversity, inclusion, and equity wherever they go in the multidisciplinary major. Screen, print, and digital literacy, leadership, group dynamics, and teamwork are also stressed. The Gender Studies major studies anatomy and human biology, anthropology, art history, biomedical science, classics and ancient history, English, history, Indigenous knowledge, heritage, and law, music, politics and international relations, and work and employment relations.
Businesses worldwide are reducing gender imbalance, but certain people's wisdom and insight are needed. Gender studies is an advantage to any degree program since it is based on diversity, inclusion, and social justice. Many company policies encourage diversity and equity.
