Program description

Take your skills and knowledge to the next level by performing in a musical theater production. You will learn the ins and outs of singing, dancing, and acting, in addition to delving into the history of musical theater and music analysis to put your performances in context by gaining a grasp of the theoretical underpinnings of music.

Professionals with years of expertise will guide you as you refine your abilities and create your own distinctive style. Theatrical acting, singing, dancing, and stagecraft are just a few of the many areas that will be covered in the regularly scheduled Music Theatre Workshops. Joining the Broadway Choir is an integral aspect of the major; there, you will learn to sing classic musical theater songs and even get some solo acting experience. The chance to engage in work-integrated learning with arts organizations and community theater companies based in WA is an intriguing aspect of the course that will allow you to develop your creative practice.

You can combine this major with nearly any other at UWA, such as Science, Business, Arts, etc., or with General Music Studies, Contemporary Popular Music, or Electronic Music and Sound Design.
