Program description
Success in healthcare requires a multidisciplinary understanding of human behavior, social dynamics, and the science and art of patient care in addition to a solid scientific grounding in the human body and its systems. A compassionate healthcare provider is one who is self-aware, has strong ethical convictions, and the capacity for insightful interpretation.
By including arts and humanities courses, this major hopes to provide students a well-rounded education that will better prepare them for the second cycle of medical school. Students interested in healthcare policy and law, psychology, public and global health, social work, patient advocacy, dentistry, or any other health-related job will find this degree to be very beneficial.
This major is a joint effort of the Medical School and the School of Allied Health's Division of Health Professions Education.
