Program description

You will learn about global and local health challenges, as well as the biological, social, environmental, and historical aspects that impact population health, in your first year of University. The second year is all about honing your research inquiry and critical evaluation skills. You'll learn to quantify health issues, identify their root causes, and assess the likelihood of finding solutions. Health leadership, research, health systems and policy, and promotion of health are the main areas of study in the third year. Additionally, the course covers supplementary material in the areas of Aboriginal health, health communication, and health project design. Field trips, volunteer work experience programs, and organized visits to health organizations are essential components of the major that encourage students to participate with their local communities. By completing the major, you will be able to acquire the expertise that is valued both at home and abroad.
