Program description
Practical aspects of finance, including corporate finance challenges like determining the ideal dividend policy, selecting company initiatives with resourcefulness, and determining the right mix of equity and debt to fund projects, are taught in a finance major. Investing fundamentals and effective risk management strategies are also covered.
Current events, such as the worldwide financial crisis and big corporate and economic-wide happenings, will be considered alongside the basic theories that have formed the present-day thinking on financial matters. The trademarks of a degree in finance from UWA are the ability to think critically and ethically, to communicate effectively, to lead others, and to develop good research abilities. If you're interested in working in the field of financial economics, you can double-major in finance and economics. Various in-class activities, including lectures, tutorials, and workshops, make up the curriculum for this major.
